Pinellas

Welcome to the Pinellas Chapter

Recent name change to DECF of Pinellas as other chapters form in the region.

We are strengthening our impact by establishing important working relationships with other caucuses, environmental and civic groups, and elected officials. Some of these groups include Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council, Pinellas County Commissioners, St Petersburg City Council, Tampa Bay Estuary Program, Sierra Club, and St. Petersburg Sustainability Council.

We have a strong Political Action Committee, which solicits the Environmental Voter Pledge from candidates, as well as develops strategies for getting them elected.

We work to bring about legislation, which is favorable to the environment. We partner with the Florida Progressives to develop and update the environmental portion of the spreadsheet, Progressive Priority Legislation.

Meetings

The Pinellas Chapter has been holding monthly meetings since April of 2013. Meetings are held at 6:30, on the third Wednesday of the month, by Zoom .

Due to COVID-19 meetings are being held on ZOOM.

We work on issues of political campaigns, legislation, water and energy policy. Monthly agendas and minutes are emailed to members before each meeting. Meetings often include guest speakers, political action workshops, and field trips.
